Im turning into one of them!

Last night, i went to our awesome neighbors house, Eddie and Melissa's, and got another "southern" lesson. The first one was how to gut a fish in the kitchen sink, but butter on it and bbq it! I didnt participate it that one of course. But last night I learned to string beans and fry squash in flour and corn meal. Then Melissa sent me home with a crap load of produce from their HUGE garden that you could feed an army with and I strung beans while I talked to Shawn about our days. I think I might be liking this "southern" things a little too much. You'll know I've crossed over to the dark side when I think that eating a meal at a "cafe/diner" thats attached to a gas station is normal....until them Im going to have to rely on the folks in CA to keep me grounded.

Bullshit Posts That I come across.

This past week, one of the blogs that I stalk...Prayer of Hannah... has been talking about vaccines, and how these mothers are choosing not to vaccinate their children. I'd like to express my frustrations about people who choose to have such a jaded view of reality. Many say that vaccines are the "cause" of autism, but have they given thought to the idea that maybe, just maybe autism has always been around and recently they have been able to determine what the symtoms are and how they affect children.
For instance...its fine if women want to make their lives more difficult and banish all things convienient and revert back to the 1700's, but they need to understand the effects of there decisions. Cancer, autism, polio, measeles ( just to name a few) have always been around, its the medical advances and research that have brought these diseases to light.
I just dont understand how some can be so blantantly blind to the medical advances that we have the oppourtunity to take advantage of. Vaccines are about prevention and by taking the chance and not vaccinating your children you run the risk of putting the mass population at risk for a major outbreak, of oh lets see.....bubonic plague!

Kate and Leopold

Many people talk about trying to keep their kids busy and occupied during the day....I dont have to worry about this, since I pay other people to entertain and watch him. But this past week he had a rash on his belly that they were treating like the black plague! Now, if it were any other kid, I'd want them to be at home, but because it was Jack I felt like they were picking on him a little, just a little.

So for 2 days last week Shawn and I watched him. I took him on the 2nd and it was actually a blast. He played constantly!!!!!!!! I was about to loose patience with the fact that he wants to touch everything that he's not supposed to, and that he was chasing Earl around the house. (harold tolerates his love much better, and by love I mean smothering, suffocating and extreme hugs that make her eyes want to pop out of her little cat head) I grabbed his chair that Jenni made and put him on it and then tucked him in with his Jack blanket that Jenni also made(such talent!!, and so thoughtful!), and turned a movie on. I didnt put in baby einstein or shrek, or even toy story. I put in Kate and Leopold and he watched the whole movie, and drank apple juice and water the whole time.

Heres a look:

Ricky-ism's

"She's like throwing a pencil down a mine shaft."
"It's as hot as a 2 dick billy goat."
"Slippery as goose shit"
"That's as wrong as two boys screwing."
" Does a fat dog fart???"

Fourth of July Weekend

This was at a park in Cleveland, Ga. We went here with some new friends after going to dinner at the Huddle House. For those who are not from the south.....please let me explain.....I.H.O.P is the king of all breakfast places. It's corporate and clean and you know no one shot up before coming to work. The waffle house is a generic version of IHOP, and the Huddle House is a generic version of Waffle House. Im not joking when I say there was a can of LARD on the grill, they opened a #10 can of Lard and put it on the grill to melt, NOT BUTTER!!!! NOT MARGARINE!!!!!! LARD!!!! Actual Lard!!!!

We had fun at the park though, Jack was climbing all over the play equipment and loved the swing.

On Friday the fourth we went over to Michelle and George's house for lunch. It was alot of fun and the boys ( Jack and Max) had fun together playing. This picture is after they got out of the little blow up pool that Max has. Max had a great time, but Jack was being a total girl. Everytime Max's foot touched him or Max grabbed Jack's leg or arm, he had a complete meltdown. I laughed and left him in there, and told him not be be a baby. He was wanting to play next to Max, but not with him. We also played one of the coolest games ever, Scene It. Michelle and George just finished their basement and have a t.v almost larger than out bed!! Shawn was in heaven!!! We had a really great time.

On Saturday, Shawn's dad and Brother came down and spent the day with us. We made a bunch of food, grilled and played with Jack! I only have videos of that, and im not to keen on being able to put those on here yet.

This is from Sunday, after church, we were at a local mall in Gainesville and we let Jack ride on the carousel, which he LOVED!! Laughed and smiled the whole time, best dollar we spent all day.
